On Saturday at SPDTC Harley had a very nice open run and got 2nd place (tied with Audrey for 1st) with a 198.5 - 7 more points brought us up to 91!!! That means she tied her all-time highest score - another accomplishment. I was surprised that we placed so high in a big 37-dog class. I think winning is even more fun when it surprises you. When you least expect, right? ;-) She also had a nice Utility run, but due to a few things she was just out of the placings with a 195.5 But qualifying in both classes meant that she finished her UDX3, which was my goal for the weekend. :-)



On Sunday she had a very nice Open run again, and was in a run off for 4th place with a 198. She really bombed the run off so we didn't place. Her Utility run was BEAUTIFUL and the judge, Carol Mett, absolutely loved her (she has Labs too). It was Utility A order........at the very end she had a no-sit on her go-out due to an honest mistake (a loud noise right about the same time that I said 'sit' so she just stood, didn't walk forward or anything).....at the end the judge said "You have a wonderful dog and had a beautiful run....I'm so sorry....You're going to be even more sorry..." At the lunch break she told me that Harley had only missed 1.5 points up until the last exercise (go-outs) and the class was won with a 198.5. Sigh. So close, but so far.



Some OTCH handlers told me to focus on doing each exercise as it comes. Don't get worked up about the whole thing, don't keep track of it, just take it one step at a time.
